This was a huge deal for me. I wanted to make a record for The Trilogy Tapes for a few years before I finally made the right record for Will and I was absolutely hyped that he wanted to do one with me. I remember making it in the damp middle room of a railroad apartment in Greenpoint, winter 2012. I made most of the synths on my cell phone with an app called Sunrizer, and the drums all came from an MFB-502. I had to sell it to someone eventually to pay for rent, but that thing was so cool. Anyways, this is my cell phone and drum machine record, and I feel like it's indicative of where my sound would go with a little more knowledge. I had just discovered the minor ninth chord, used everywhere from Drexciya to Actress (Ghosts Have A Heaven) for example, to make that uplifting, melancholic sound, and I feel like that thread still permeates my music to this day. Busy Signal became some sort of surprise banger somehow. I remember seeing Ben UFO play it at PS1 Warm Up one time and I was so hyped. Big thanks to Will! The cover has also gone on to become sort of legendary. I see it on weird instagram profile pics all the time, and I don't even think people know where it comes from. Fun Fact: a T shirt with the cover art showed up in Charlotte Prodgers' Turner Prize winning artwork 'BRIDGIT'.

Now, another example that Music with capital letters was created in Africa. I can't thank Kenny Dixon Jr enough for another outstanding piece of art rooted in the deepest and most ancient of expressions. What a reinterpretation of funk and disco! alexlaragarcia

A masterpiece within an already very impressive discography. My favorite track is Insect Near Piha Beach, but for some reason I couldn’t select it! Vik Srinivasan
