This was the record that really made me think things were kicking off in a real way. It's my third record technically, but it came out the same week as "El Portal" on The Trilogy Tapes, and I feel like it's great they both came out at the same time now. They're two sides to a coin that I've explored most of my 'career' so far - balancing the crudely functional dance-floor sensibilities with the more experimental tendencies that I seem to be plagued by even if I'm trying to make something accessible. Anyways as a flip to the coin of 'Slice Of Life', this is probably still my highest selling vinyl release ever, which felt so cool at the time to see it all over the stores everywhere. I remember seeing it in Phonica on the wall at the time and just being so shook. Something I made... on the wall of a record store... in a foreign country... and people are interested in it. Still the coolest feeling ever. There are actually five tracks on this release, two of them are just at the end of the noted tracks. I seem to do this a lot, I guess to give people more bang for their buck.
